“Besides my educational background and tenacity, I will bring passion, commitment, and a new perspective, and voice to Bay City ISD School Board. I want to state right off the bat that I am not a politician. I am running for School Board because I continue to be involved in the educational achievements of students in the district and want to ensure our children obtain the best quality education possible to prepare them for the future. I am also running for the Bay City School Board because I want to continue making a difference in Matagorda County,” Robinson said. “I can assure you that is not a cliché answer – it is my heart. I want to be an advocate for our students. Many of our students have strong support systems outside of the schools, but unfortunately many do not. Being an advocate is something I have been gifted in and I do very well. I also want to advocate for the educators and staff. We have great schools with wonderful and talented educators and staff. I will become a voice to ensure teachers have absolutely every tool needed to help each student reach educational success. I am a candidate who has an open mind and a willingness to listen and learn and that means to listen and learn from the experts. Those experts are the students, the parents, and the teachers. I don't have all the answers and I won't try to convince you that I do, but I'm dedicated to doing my BEST to continue to build a strong, healthy, financially viable School District.
I believe all of these issues that are addressed below are vital to the success of our students and the District and I hope I have your support in achieving these goals. I'm just a granny who wants to get things done. While our schools are doing a great job, we should always continue to strive and aspire to be and do better. I will be a vocal proponent for public education. I offer a fresh perspective and new ideas and now is the time for a season of change,” Robinson said.
“I Will Work To:
“What we all need to remember is our schools need their community support. If elected I will continue to be honest, clear, and approachable by all. My vision for EVERY BCISD student is to leave our school system proudly saying, “I am the product of a great public school,” Robinson said.
